Day 4: Fly to Iguazú Falls

This morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to Iguazú Falls. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel located inside Iguazú National Park, surrounded by lush rainforest and just moments from the falls.

Day 5: Thundering Iguazú Falls

Spend the day exploring Iguazú National Park, home to the spectacular Iguazú Falls. After pickup from your hotel, travel through lush jungle with your guide, learning about the park’s rich biodiversity along the Yacaratía path.

Follow the Upper and Lower Circuits, which offer views from sweeping panoramas to up-close thundering waterfalls like Salto Bossetti and Dos Hermanas. The highlight is the Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Throat), where immense volumes of water plunge into a dramatic chasm.

Later, head to Port Macuco for an exhilarating boat ride along the Lower Iguazú River canyon. Navigate through rapids and approach the base of the falls, feeling the mist and power of the water as you pass by San Martín and Devil’s Throat Falls. Day 6: Travel to Colonia, Uruguay

This morning you’ll transfer to the airport for your flight back to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival, a host will accompany you to the port to board the ferry across the Río de la Plata to Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay. On arrival, your local guide will meet you at the dock and escort you to your hotel in the heart of the historic Old Town.

Day 8: Travel to Montevideo with a Wine and Cheese Tasting

Transfer from Colonia to Montevideo with a visit to La Vigna cheese farm and winery. Day 9: Montevideo City Tour

Enjoy a full-day tour of Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. This city combines the feeling of a big, modern city with a colonial past, and you will explore both parts of its history today with your private guide.

Start with the historic city center. Main points of interest include the Old City, Constitution Square, the Cathedral and colonial Town Hall, Solis Theatre, and Independence Square. You will also visit the Port Market, which is now a vibrant market hall, with a huge variety of restaurants and traditional asado grills.

You will also have the opportunity today to visit one of Montevideo’s museums, depending on your interests and the museums’ hours – the MAPI (Museum of Pre-Columbian and Indigenous Art), the Torres Garcia Museum, or the Gurvich Museum (closed on Sundays).

After lunch at a local restaurant, you will head to La Ciudad Nueva (the new city). Unlike the Old City, this area was planned with wide, tree-lined streets, with magnificent stores and residences. You will have a few options for places to visit this afternoon, and your guide will customize the day based on your preferences and interests.

Day 10: Olive Tasting and José Ignacio

Depart Montevideo for José Ignacio, stopping en route at Olivos de las Ánimas, an olive estate set in the scenic foothills of Cerro de las Ánimas. Learn about the production of premium extra virgin olive oil and enjoy a guided tasting that highlights the region’s flavors. Savor a homemade lunch at the home of the owner, Martín, whose passion for his craft reflects the warmth of Uruguay’s countryside. Day 12: Uruguayan Countryside and Wineries

Meet your local guide for a full-day tour of Garzón, often called the “Uruguayan Tuscany.” Begin with a visit to the quiet town of Garzón, stopping at its main square, chapel, and old train station. Continue to Bodega Garzón for a private tour of the vineyards and state-of-the-art winery, set atop a rocky hill with sweeping views of the countryside.
